Bluegrass And Clawhammer Banjo Lessons
Bein' Plucky or Wanting To Get On A Roll?
Whichever style you choose, you're in for an exciting time! I use Wayne Erbsen's Ignoramous tutorials as I feel they're the best and.......the tab is in an easy to read size for eyes that aren't 16 anymore!
2 Finger Style Banjo - Easy Pre Bluegrass Style!
Two finger banjo is the perfect style for those who don't want to memorize a bunch of right hand patterns known as rolls. It can sound either Old Timey or Bluegrassy or bluesy depending on what you're playing and how you go about it. You literally only use your thumb and one finger to create delightful playing that sounds more complicated than it is! |
Bluegrass Banjo- Roll On Out! We'll be studying from "Bluegrass Banjo For The Complete Ignoramous" by Wayne Erbsen. You'll learn basic rolls, pinches, drone notes, and most important- songs! (and the story behind these songs) I ask my students to play a half hour a day to bring the banjo into their lifestyle.

Payments During Pandemic
First Lesson is always free, period and you don't need a book for this.
In Spring of 2020,I decided to go about this in the following manner: For those who can pay my regular fee of $40 for 40 min, that's what I charge per lesson. For those who can't quite do that, I accept whatever amount they can offer. For those really struggling financially, out of work, etc I teach for free. I just want to give folks in a bad spot something to get their hearts off their troubles for a bit. I accept Paypal and Venmo payments at this time. |
Beginning Clawhammer Banjo There's nothing quite like the sound of hearing the pluckiness of clawhammer banjo. In playing the tunes, you're also also preserving history. We'll be working with "Clawhammer Banjo for the Complete Ignoramous 40th edition,in all it's spiral bound and easy to read TAB glory! We'll master the bum-ditty and learn to brush!
